WOYWW 422 (apparently)

Chaos is reigning at the moment, but oh so many plans are afoot... Daughter wanted to sort photos on Monday...

And in among the crates, I found this - I thought I'd given away all my cross-stitch work, but this one survived...

I SOOO miss not being able to cross-stitch, but I'm so happy to have found this. It will be hung in the hallway to greet visitors to our home sweet home :)

And Daughter had fun finding treasures from when she was born almost 20 years ago - including a silver cross necklace given to her when she was dedicated. We've cleaned it and now she's wearing it!

Sharing with the wonderful Julia here.

  2. Hi Claire. What a great fun way to spend time - I love going through old photos! Well done on re-discovering the cross stitch piece, it's going to look good hanging in the hall - I miss doing it too - I need new specs, I think!!! Your daughter was dedicated? So were mine - and what a thrill when they chose baptism later for themselves!!
    Take care. God bless.

  7. I met a lady at the weekend who has quite advanced Parkinsons now, her embroidery work was phenomenal. Sadly she can't even do small works now. It adds a whole new meaning to 'seize the day' eh? glad you found the evidence of your glory days, and I expect the stories, as much of the photos, will bring great joy to both you and your daughter?.. Happy WOYWWing, Dxxx @29

  8. Something about old photos better than computer ones. Love the cross stitch, I can't do it anymore because of failing eyesight. Anickoana#14

  9. I have found that when I open an old photo chest, my day disappears.... I spend literally hours upon hours of looking through the pictures and treasures. I am the unofficial record keeper of our family though... and five generations of photographs and also birth certificates (etc) and parish records dating back to the late 1600's does tend to take a while to browse through :)
    Have a wonderful WOYWW Wednes-yay!

  10. Lovely cross stitch - how lucky that you saved it to be found later on! Looking through past treasures is so much fun, I'm glad your daughter found something special. I have a tiny gold cross that I came across a few weeks ago, that I used to wear as a child - I had forgotten all about it! Thanks for sharing, Lindart #39

  20. What a lovely activity....I love old photos. Lots of happy memories....hopefully. I love the cross stitch picture. I used to do lots of cross stitch and even went into our local school to teach the kids how to do it many years ago....I now don't have the time or patience for it.
