I'm still working through my Authentic August word-prompts. Today's is STEAL - a curious prompt to interpret, I think
I was especially drawn to the image on the right - where a 'collector' has removed a fairy's wing with his scalpel and 'captured' her in his book...
Underneath I've written:
On the pocket on the left-hand page, I've placed a sticker reading 'The best things in life aren't things', and on the reverse of the pretty wee house tag:
I've written 'worry or fret' under the DO NOT sign - totally ignoring the instruction not to write in this space (heehee!)

I confess I'm rather proud of my daily art-journalling throughout August (only just over a week to go) - all the posts are gathered here and you can see what the others have been doing in the group here - just ask to join, all are welcome 👯 👷👳
Sharing with dear Julia here.

  2. Oh but worry (about being unprepared for the new school term!) has kept me from sleeping and enabled me to get into the no 1 spot!! Great work with the art journaling.

  3. YOu have done a great job with these prompts, they aren't immediately easy are they..that alone would probably have made me fall behind if not fall off track, I know well enough not to start these things anymore! Love your interpretation for 'steal',, very clever indeed. Although I feel sorry for the fairy!

  4. Morning Claire. Well done. All those daily entries - I'm sure I would never have kept up! Propped up against my computer monitor is a little picture we found when emptying my mum and dad's house a few years ago. It says "If we trust we do not worry. If we worry we do not trust", and a Victorian hanging which says "The Lord is at hand; in nothing be anxious". I seek to follow those in my daily life - knowing Jesus has seen me through thus far in all the ups and downs - not always very good at actually doing it... but then, I'm not perfected yet!! I'm still at the practice stage!
    Take care. God bless.

  7. Hi Claire, that is indeed an awkward word to interpret, well done on your choices. My DIL was given a book of Pressed Fairies once, I guess thats where your image came from. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #7 XxX

  13. Keeping up a journal can be difficult, especially in the summer with so much going on, so you have every right to feel proud! The fairy wing comment reminded me of a book I once saw, a book of squished fairies, as if the author captured the fairies by closing the book on them - rather horrible when you think of it, except, of course, the fairies weren't real! Have a great week, thanks for sharing! Lindart #33
