Today's word, remember, is very powerful...
I'm letting the pictures do the talking, and a few stickers - 'dearest', a small, but powerfully evocative, word on the shoulder of the wistful older woman on the left - I imagine her carrying the ghost of a loved one on that shoulder...
And in contrast, lots of jolly friendship words scattered around these 'best of friends' on the right. I don't know about you, but I imagine these too are a real pair... their willful high-jinx barely suppressed as they pose for their formal school portrait 😉
Do share any remembered thoughts below in the comments or in our ever-welcoming group.
Also sharing with Julia here.
PS My internet connection has been very patchy for the past week, so I may 😊, or may not 😞, get to visit many desks...
great spread! Helen #1

My goddaughter bought me a handmade journal for my birthday. I told her I would be a while deciding if it was going to be used for a theme or as a daily journal. In the end I've gone for "Into Sixty Two" . Meaning all things related to my 62nd year. Amy was quite pleased with the idea.
ReplyDeleteYours is working really well. Hope I can maintain the momentum like you are Claire.

'Remember' is a very emotionallly charged word, I think...hopefully more positive memories than bad. Your journal pages are very poignant.

Love those journal pages - reminds me I have some old photo bits somewhere (Tim Holtz pack).
ReplyDeleteYes, that is a lovely word and a similar one to my favourite "Memories" which I used to use a lot when I was card making. Two lovely journal pages.
Hugs & Thanks for visiting me earlier - Neet 13 xx
Hi Claire, great spread, and yes, Remember is such an evocative word. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #4 XxX
ReplyDeleteHi Claire, I love the photo of the friends. Their expressions remind me of a photo of my two daughters taken at a mother/daughter photo shoot 5 years ago. I can see I am going to get an urge to start a journal ... have a lovely week, Heather #30
ReplyDeleteLove your layout. Remember. Some days it seems like all I remember is what I screwed up during the day. I need to forget those memories and concentrate on all the right things I did the day - and there's more of those. So why do we punish ourselves! Here's to remembering the good stuff!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!

Beautiful journal pages , you have captured the word Remember perfectly... Have a happy week ahead... May#17
ReplyDeleteRemember is a powerful word! We have made lots of memories so far this August, lots of good memories to look back on over the years. It's amazing what can invoke memories - a picture, a smell, a song. . .! You have made a lovely Remember page! Thanks for sharing, Lindart #35
ReplyDeleteHello Claire, how intriguing are those photos. The woman looks thoughtful and maybe even a little bit sad remembering something - I wonder what. I think it's such a shame that the fashion was for not smiling in these early shots - it would have been lovely to see those girls grinning instead of looking so serious. Have a great week. ReplyDeleteHi Claire - I like your photos. The facial expressions of all 3 shown are priceless, aren't they? I like how you've "posed" them for your journal pages.

P.S. I couldn't leave a comment at glitterandglue again today (#2 on the list) as the page there would not let me scroll down.
Your post reminds me of my aunties and great aunts, ... I was ata family reunion earlier this month, and sat with one of my mom's favorite cousins (83), had a good time sharing memories with her.
ReplyDeleteHi Claire, I love the old photos. As they say every picture tells a story, but that story can be different depending on the eyes that are looking at it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog.
